Remembering the Sun

A daily delve into my life......

Janis has found the perfect summer topic and she says:
I think Ben (my youngest grandson) was too young to remember his first trip to Portugal.
I'm not even sure he remembers much about going to Florida!
He certainly remembers his second trip to Portugal last year.
Much as I love the coast of Britain and we've spent many happy holidays in Cornwall over the years-you cannot guarantee good weather. However, despite the cold, I did manage to paddle last time we had a holiday there back in 2005 (if I'm wrong on the date I'm sure Beccy will put me right).
Much of the summer when I'm home alone you will find me pottering about in my own back yard and if there is a good sunset I'm happy.

I love taking pictures of the sky and in particular sunsets so this week I've decided to join in with this Sunday Meme established September 2008.

A couple of weeks ago I took this picture of the sunset looking out across the back of our house. At the same time the view across the front of the house was of huge dark clouds scuttling across the sky. It's hard to believe one can get two such different photos within the space of a few seconds!
Before I went to visit Sam she ordered a new digital camera for me (early Christmas pressie from Embee) and had it charged all ready for my arrival. The problem is I am still learning all the features; many of the early photos I took are very poor quality. Sam decided to try out the video function the evening we went to see the view of San Francisco at sunset from Twin Peaks. Although not the best videos, I still wanted to share them and I hope it gives you an idea of the spectacular views we saw on that particular evening (both are virtually the same panorama so you can take your pick from either video~ should you choose to watch~but it comes with a quality warning sign, the second might be better of the two).
