Blueberries = Home grown fruit is the best!
I came back from holiday to find that my blueberries were ripe. Unfortunately the wind had blown a lot of the fruit off. I only have four bushes and this is the most fruit they have ever produced, so I was really delighted.
Final haul weighed almost a pound. This may not seem many but when you think how much they cost here in the UK for about 4oz, I am more than pleased. Also they taste so much nicer when you have grown them yourself!
We also had a small crop of loganberries.

Will there be any left for me next week?
How wonderful! I love blueberries and have memories of picking them decades ago when I visited extended family in Canada. Methinks I’ll get some blueberries from my fridge and fix myself a bowl of cereal ;--) I’m sure you’ll enjoy yours … and thanks for the link to next week’s Fun Monday host. I’ll go check to see what the topic is as soon as I publish this comment and be prepared for once … maybe.
Hugs and blessings,
Why does it seem everyone can grow blueberries but me!?! They just won't grown where I live. Too hot and humid, I suppose. yours looke wonderful and juicy and yummy! Your logans, too! Good Job!
haven't had any this year -- probably missed them by now. :(
they look wonderful...blueberries are my favorite!!
Oh yum! Muffins for breakfast tomorrow or freeze them for the winter?
Oh, I just bought my first blueberries of the year this morning. I should have just gone over to your house for some! But wait, you live thousands of miles away. Alas.
Just how much *do* 4 oz of blueberries cost in the UK?
Mine were, let's see... I guess around $1 for 4 oz. (Chicago, IL, USA.)
I love blueberries, they are pretty expensive over here too.
We're trying to grow tomatoes so far we have had two and they were very good but haven't exactly meant we can stop buying them!
there is only one thing better than blueberries. MORE BLUEBERRIES.
I freeze them and eat them like a frozen treat, too!
I don't like blueberries but I love loganberries.
Those look great! I had never heard of loganberries but they look just as delish as the blueberries!
They look delicious! I agree everything tastes better home grown! I can't wait to get this years garden going again!
I'm jealous!
OH, my goodness. Blueberries grow on a bush. I've never seen them growing. I just thought they came in those little plastic containers.
As for loganberries, I've never eaten one. Don't know that I've ever heard of one.
Your blueberries are beautiful. Although ours are from the grocery, my hubby and I just enjoyed some blueberries with yogurt.
beccy I somehow think you might be unlucky
storyteller and Molly I usually have mine on my muesli mixed with natural organic yoghurt for breakfast.
swampangel they need acid soil~ericaceous compost for growing in pots and rain water-fussy little bu**ers!
deborah I'm sad to say all eaten!
jen that would be around round $5 I guess!
pamela mine aren't around long enough to freeze~ although come to think of it I do believe I may still have some in my freezer from last year so must try that!
swampy loganberries are fairly sharp to eat but they make a great sauce over icecream (pureed with honey)
Oh yes, very delicious! Our blueberries in our garden are at this year are not so good!
MMMMmmm, I see cobbler and smoothies and muffins OH MY! Those look delicious. I had blueberry muffins just this morning, but they were made from a box mix, not fresh.
These pictures remind me they could've been so much better!
Homegrown really are the BEST!!!
Those look great. I put some bushes in this year, a week or so ago. I got 10 plants. They had berries on them and they have been ripening up this week and I have been going out and eating them off the bushes. I hope to get them going really good and get some more bushes next year. We don't have logan berries here, but we do have raspberries. Do they taste the same? They look similar, as do blackberries (but for the colour and slightly different flavour).
