To get a bird's eye view you need to take the elevater to the top of The Jin Mao Tower

Looking from the top of this across to the top of the Shanghai World Financial Centre makes it look very close. Now don't you think it resembles 'a giant bottle opener'! The original design was for a 'circle' but there was a very good reason why the Chinese wouldn't approve of that design (link will explain if you are interest).
Once you get to the the viewing area you can walk around but there is no outside viewing gallery so all the pictures are taken through glass.

Oriental Pearl TV Tower
It was quite hazy and the colour variation on different cameras is quite marked (not sure I altered mine for the better).
This last picture is the view looking down to the ground floor from the centre of the tower.
It made me feel a bit wobbly looking down there!Labels: China, home views, Jin Mao Tower, OrientalPearl TV Tower, photos, Shanghai, Shanghai World Financial Centre
Fun Monday has been running for two years now and I'm sure when Vikki and Willowtree spawned the idea they did not imagine that it would become a weekly staple for many of us.
This is looking into my front porch, lots of shoes, some towels in case it's very wet, my mother's walker and a few plants. You can see the edge of a step ladder that I hate having in full view, but it's handy to grab in an emergency and Embee likes to keep it there.
I know many of you will have seen my hallway, but this is what you see when you enter the house. I couldn't get everything in but it's just a few chairs and a hall tallboy(not in view). The unit you can see belongs to my daughter, (there is a story to it but I won't bore you with it here), and I had nowhere else to put it!
Either side of the hall I have paintings and plate racks to display some of my blue and white china.

The weatherman got the forecast correct for last Sunday and we had a lot of rain, heavy winds and apart from a brief break through of the sun during the morning it remained pretty dark all day. After the not very successful video of San Francisco I wanted to try again (you know the old say if at first you don't succeed....) so for the want of anything more interesting I decided it would have to be the view of the rain from my dining room window. Today a week later the weather is pretty much the same although not quite as much wind, well not outside the house anyway!
