Ornament Exchange 2010

For the past few years I have participated in an ornament exchange, more recently organized by Emma. This year my ornament came from Emma's friend, Natalie. It is really lovely. I'm afraid that my photos do not do it justice!
Nathalie wrote that Canada is a peace keeping, and peace loving nation so she sent me the Dove of Peace.
The ornament is delicately hand painted on glass and it is beautiful.
So thank you Natalie I really do love it.

Christmas Ornament Swap 2009

I have been very remiss in getting this post up. The main reason being that I"m trying to shake off a nasty virus and have not been well for almost a week now. Emma a blogging buddy organised a Christmas Ornament swap and I eagerly joined in as I've enjoyed adding new ornaments to my tree in similar swaps for the past couple of years.
When I returned from visiting my daughter and the grandchildren I had a card from the Royal Mail to go and pick up a package and I guessed it might be my ornament.
Imagine my delight when I found this lovely little snowman ornament in my package.

I also had a lovely letter from Jennifer, who is actually a friend of Emma's in Edmonton in Canada. Jennifer said that she had chosen the ornament in a store in Newfoundland and although she had no idea of my colour scheme, she made a perfect choice because many of my ornaments are red and gold.
I don't put my tree up until much closer to Christmas so I took the ornament into my back yard and hung it on the Bay tree to get this picture.

A big thank you to Jennifer for her lovely gift and letter; and I also want to thank Emma for organising the exchange as it's such fun to get a surprise in the post and I now have another memory on the tree.

Details of Secret Ornament Exchange 2008

I don't know what is happening to me this is the second week that I have not joined in with Fun Monday # 87 and I am very disappointed in myself because,as I've said before, I have missed very few of these since they first began. Maybe I'll be back next week we'll see!
***************************

In the meantime some of you may recall around this time last year Julie organised an ornament swap. It was so successful that she is organising another swap year. This is what she says:

By request, and because last year’s exchange was really fun, I am happy to announce the 2008 Secret Ornament Exchange!! Calling one and all to sign up to participate!

If you choose to participate you are agreeing to mail a NEW, STORE BOUGHT Christmas ornament to your assigned person. You can spend any amount you wish on the ornament but please send one you would proudly display on your own tree.

To sign up please send me an email (abbilyeverafterAThotmailDOTcom) with your name, site URL and standard mailing address. The deadline to enter is October 31. Please put “ornament swap” in the subject line.

By Nov. 7 I will email each participant with the name, site URL and mailing address of the person they are to mail an ornament to. I will only share your name/mailing address with the person assigned to mail to you.

All ornaments should be in the mail no later than December 1 - preferably sooner for any going to, or coming from, overseas. That way they should all arrive well before Christmas and after everyone’s trees are up!

Let’s see if we can increase the number of participants this year. Last year we had 38 swappers - hailing from 6 different countries and 12 different U.S. states. So sign up! Please feel free to post a note about this on your own blogs - all are welcome and the more the merrier!

I'm sure those who participated last year will be keen to do so again and anyone who didn't know about it might like to join in. All you need to do is let Julie know it would be lovely if we could help Julie increase the number of participants.

Another Corfu Picture
On my recent trip to Corfu there were a lot of people taking pictures of the group as we all met up for dinner one night. You will see that the camera is sitting on top of a bottle and had been pre-set. I thought as I was sitting behind the camera I was quite safe. But Mandy had managed to get a few sneaky photos of me and they arrived by email a couple of days ago. Good job I wasn't doing anything horrendous like picking my nose...oh and don't read too much into the fact there are so many empty bottles down this end of the table most of those are water; the small brown jugs held the wine!!!

Secret Holiday Ornament Exchange

Julie over at abbilyeverafter is organising a Secret Holiday Ornament Swap. If you are interested in participating let her know before November 21st. You will find the details over at her place.

This is what she says:
Is anyone interested in participating in a secret holiday ornament exchange? If you are, please email me (abbilyeverafter AT hotmail dot com) or leave a comment on this post. I will need your name, email, blog name (if you have one) and mailing address. If you want to participate please let me know by Wednesday, Nov. 21. I will then email you the name and address of another blogger/blog reader and you will send them an ornament. You can spend whatever dollar amount you’d like but please make sure it is a new ornament and something you would proudly hang on your own tree. Ornaments will need to be in the mail by December 7, or sooner, to guarantee Christmas arrival - especially if we have anyone playing from outside the USA. Once your ornament arrives, and you have hung it on your tree, please take a picture of it and post about it. Sound fun?

As she says, it does sound fun I'm joining in how about you!
