Coincidence or telepathy!

Yesterday I agreed to take my friend Tina to the cash and carry and as I got into her car she was laughing. I didn't immediately realise why until she pointed out that we were wearing the same colours, albeit the other way round thank goodness! I haven't worn these turquiose trousers or the black shirt for ages so goodness knows what made me opt for them today.

Neither of us like having our photos taken but I caught her when I settled her down for a cup of tea. I even practised using the timer on the camera for the first time ever. Not the most flattering picture so lucky not many people will see it.

Fun Monday # 85 Dare I show my closet!

I am actually on holiday and as you are reading this I should be in Corfu enjoying some sun~ well that's the idea anyway!
When Alison said that her daughter Cassie was hosting this week I really wanted to participate so I decided to prepare in advance and schedule the post to be published on Monday. Lets Hope it works.

So what task did Cassie set us...well she might be young but she knows just how to embarrass me this as she says:

I want to see the inside of your closet!! I want to see if your closet is as messy as mine!!! You can't organize it before you take the picture!!

Well I have wardrobes rather than a closet! Oh how I long for a closet I actually had huge one built in my last house and it was brilliant. I took a few snaps as I was sorting out some clothes to take on holiday so it's not exactly tidy~ actually the wardrobes are never that tidy but going on holiday gave me an excuse so you see Cassie I obeyed your rules! Your mom will tell you I'm not always good at keeping to the rules!
Anyone who has an eye for fashion will also realise that I keep clothes that are years old and will probably never wear again so I think I will need to have a good turn out when I get back from my holiday.

I'm sure you don't want explanations of what's what so I'll leave it there. Oh one thing I will say is the long dress in the last picture (yellow /orange flowers) is one I made way back in the 80's just to highlight how I hoard!

I'm sorry I won't be visiting this week but I'll try and take a peep at some when I get back. Have a fun day and if someone would let me know in comments who is hosting the following week I would be very grateful. Thank You

Award

I am very lucky to have been given another award. I have the very kind Steffi to thank for giving me this lovely award. I have already put it into my hall of fame award link in my side bar. Steffi is such a gifted seamstress and she has made my grand daughter, Mollie, some of her favourite clothes. I know that a lot of blogger's children have benefited from Steffi's generosity. So I'm really glad that she was given this award.

As I think all the blogs I follow are brilliant I am passing this on to everyone who comments on this post. OK I admit I'm being lazy about linking to individual blogs~ it will serve me right if no one actually comments~ but I hope this doesn't happen!

Who'd buy a Pink TV

First I hope you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday Monday; the weather in this part of the country was very wet and windy in the morning and sunny and windy in the afternoon. So when our original plan to take a cycle ride was scuppered (we're fair weather people), I tentatively suggested to embee that he cleared out his wardrobe (closet). I wasn't really expecting a positive response but he surprised me by agreeing, apparently, he'd been thinking about doing it anyway. We spent a couple of hours sorting and turning out a lot of clothes that no longer fit as well as those that have seen better days. The end result is I now have a couple of bags of clothes to get rid of and he has nice tidy shelves (I wonder how long this will last!!).
When I was shopping this morning I happened to walk down the electrical aisle in my local supermarket and I saw this (good job I had my camera in my bag!):
I wonder if anyone buys these items. I can see the appeal to some children, and I suppose you might want to colour co-ordinate a room but it's a no no for me. On the other hand I have daughters who adore pink so it might appeal to them!! What about you???
I had just got myself home unpacked the shopping, (a job I hate) and settled down to eat lunch and read the paper when the door bell rang. It was the chap to deliver some fence panels and he was alone as his work mate has just decided to leave and go it alone. Hmm the panels needed to be stored flat at the back of the house and as I didn't want him struggling to lift or to drag them I said I would help. I must have been mad, the guy said he was worried about his back, I'm certainly worried about mine. Anyway, we did carry them across the yard (the wind was really strong so he would never have managed it alone). They are now safely stored waiting for the concrete posts to arrive. What worries me is if he cannot find anyone to help him will I end up labouring when he comes to replace the old fence. Also will I get some discount- I doubt it !! and Ohh is my back sore now does anyone know a good masseur?!!
