Fun Monday # 50 1st Anniversary
Who would have thought that after Vicki was
So I would like to say a big thank you to Vicki and Willowtree, who encouraged her, for starting the ball rolling.
This is my view last year, the sun happened to be shinning when I took the photo unlike today, which is grey and raining, although you might not realise it from the photo below!
Now on to my First ever post on September 20th 2006. It was this pathetic little offering and do you know I was so pleased with myself!
I didn't know anything about htmls, linking to other blogs, uploading a photo was like a talking a foreign language. Side bar, bloglines, and stat counter what's that (in fact I think uploading a stat counter was one of the first things I ever did)!!
Gradually over the weeks and months, I tried things out and thus became my addiction to blogging!! My next big thing is going to be changing my header.. but don't hold your breath it's not likely to happen anytime soon. I have been offered help but I sort of want to do it myself and now I have photoshop I really ought to be able create something suitable~ however, that's if I only knew how to use it effectively....need I say more!!!!!!!!
Here's to the next yearSee you soon! You will find links to all the other Fun Monday party goers on Vicki's sidebar.

Oh how fun - and I ge to be first. :) Love you view, now I'll go check the other links. Oh, love your sidewalk too!
Oh, in my anxiousness to be first :) I forgot to say good luck making your header, I'm sure you'll do great!
I have to agree with Lisa's comment on your first post, for starters, it was a pretty good post anyway, but the fact that you even included links was very impressive.
You are doing well. I'm glad that you joined the brothersisterhood.
Love the English way with gardens--you concentrate on plants instead of great lawns unless you're on an estate.
Read your first post and was amused at the comments--count on friends and family to encourage our first efforts. You're a good solo learner.
My gosh, I am amazed at all of the links in your first post! I didn't know how to do that for almost a year...you rock. I cannot wait to see your new header.
You have a lovely view outside your door, and the grass is green in January.
Hi Chris, nice to see another Fun Monday "oldtimer"
hahaha I am so embarresed I only just realized from reading that post and comments what your blog name is......I'm a dork!
I loved your first post!! Your front garden is very beautiful...I love the deep green color!!
I have a little something on my site for you!!

I am in awe that you had links in your first post! I didn't know how to do links when I started.
The photos are lovely, though it looks like spring not winter! I am enjoying see the posts from the first time around!!
Good luck with your new header!
I've thought about changing my header so maybe I'll come to you for help Chris.
Great Post!! I've been thinking about Photoshop....but have not yet taken the plunge!! Happy FM!!
Still missing those fish and chips!
Lisa and WT I think I went back and added the links when Sam sent me the code.
AC its a great fraternity!
faye the only problem is it takes a lot more effort to keep the weeds at bay.
sandy it might just be a long time coming!
mjd very green~yes shows how much rain we get!
peter mondays wouldn't be the same without FM.
terri I don't think you are alone in that!
Alison I'll be over soon.

kaytabug I expect I will end up getting help from my daughter!
bermudabluez photoshop is good fun.
barbara somehow I don't think I'm th eperson to come to!!
beccy I didn't get a lovely lasagne made for my dinner!!
Happy Fun Monday.
Pretty view.
Chris, I'm pretty sure I had gone back and read your first post (before now), it sounded familiar. But I also question that because I didn't comment (no way to be sure, now).
I DO remember your view, it always seems so inviting to me :).
And yes, I was impressed with your linkage; it was about the only thing I could "do" early on, and then I learned "strike through" and it's great to always be in the learning mode. Can't wait to see what you come up with for a header...by the time you get to it, I bet it'll be fabulous!
i am proud of you mum
Oh, alright, I added the photo of my view.
You know, I've been posting for nearly a year and I STILL don't know how to do links. Well done you. And last year was paradise compared to this year. Of course we had a big storm last year that uprooted two trees in our garden and smashed most of the glass in my greenhouse.
It's a great pic, and I love the walkway.
Great front view. Although I still want to see the tortoises. I'm beginning to think they are a figment of my imagination.
I love Fun Monday, but stopped because I just can't keep up, lol!
It's nice to see you're all still going strong with it. I love have a rummage through some of the FM posts each week:).
Great front view of your garden.I like it to see!It looks really clean!
Ha! I can so relate to you on how the blogging bug has biten me. I had no clue how to do anything when I started. Baby steps...
Your view from your door looks great. I love the brick walkway! You asked where else we visited in GB on my blog. On that trip we were in Oxford, Cotswolds, Bath, York, Edinburgh, and ended in London. We traveled there in 2006 also for a walking tour with our best friends. We love to visit GB...
Oh, I love your view! The sidewalk is my favorite part!
Happy first anniversary Chris. I can relate to your first post too. Now I have learnt a lot and changing too!:D
Love your front door view. Here we usually have to maintain a huge lawn with few plants or bushes here and there. In Indian, we plant lot of flowering plants like Jasmine!
Looking forward to more here as always. I have enabled the comments too!:)
I agree with everyone, your first post, you were off to a great blogging start. Oh, and you included links too, it took me quite awhile to learn to do that. Brillant job.
And I am so jealous of your lovely walkway. I wish we had grass that was that green here. Beautiful view.
Happy Monday!
BTW~Looking forward to seeing your new header.
Great view!
I hate photoshop!!
Well I like your first post!!! Nothing pathetic about it!!
Actually - this picture is a lot better than last years because even though the sun was shining, it cast a shadow over your yard - which made it hard to see. Lovely, just lovely!!
And do you realize that posting our views was how WE met? So Happy BlogBluddies Day too! hee hee
I think you'll all find that mum had no links in her first post until her magic little helper explained to her how to do it. Now she desn't need her magic little helper any more, she works things out by herself and I am impressed.
Not only did I have delicious lasagne last night but there was enough for dinner today so I didn't have to cook...still missing those fish and chips with chip shop salt and vinegar!
I'm working on learning how to change my blog's look too! Good luck! I'll be checking back to see how you're doing!
A nice view even with clouds. You have been blogging for quite some time now and your first post was a good one. I didn't include my first post on my blog about how I got my name. Perhaps I will go and do and edit at the end.
LOL Reading the comments, I too, just "got" the title of your blog! My brain told me that was simply your name. You know, like the maiden school teacher, Miss Jones...or perhaps the oh so hip lady down the street, Miss Thang.
Yeah...
Lovely walkway!
That is a nice view. Good luck on making progress with the header.

I love the walkway! love it!!!!!!!
You have beautiful green grass and I love the pathway!!
okay - where did my comment go - aaaauck I'm going crazy.
Everything is so neat and trim around your house -- exactly like you -- and your blog is neat and trim, too!!
I've noticed that many of us who buzz around this group started blogging in about a 10 month period of time.
I love your blog and your view...very nice.
S
Great first post and I love the view from your door. So pretty!
Happy Anniversary! It's been fun :)
Green grass! What a treat to see that!
I am learning photo shop now too...can't wait to see the new header!
it looks so green and fresh there!
Thank you for all the comments, I've seen a lot of lovely views and plenty of snow today~now I wonder who I can visit!
Beautiful! I like the walk, would like one like that at my house someday. Your neighborhood looks quiet, too, unlike mine!
