Keeping Sam company!
I often phone Sam while she is on the train going to work. For me this is around 4pm and for her around 8am. However, these calls have been costing her quite a lot of money, because although I always make the call she is also charged. So to remedy this Sam has set up skype on her laptop and woo-hoo! we were able to talk yesterday for free. Well I say talk, it was more whisper so as not to disturb the other passengers. This made it difficult to have a real conversation but it was nice to actually be able to see her and great fun to see everything whizzing past the windows. I even took quick picture!
Sam Auntie Jill was delighted to get her 'Menu for Hope' biscuits, she brought them to show me and I took a picture so that you could see them. It's only a very small box, about eight little biscuits, unfortunately they got a bit crumbled in the post, but they look nice and she says thank you.
P.S. I would just like to thank everyone for the lovely Birthday wishes you sent me for yesterday.
Embee came home with these aren't they beautiful! I would just say the flowers that look blue are actually purple. Oh and I think he was a bit miffed that I hadn't mentioned he is also giving me a flight to Dublin. So now I can go twice~ I think he wants to get rid of me~ while the cats away Mickey mouse will play!!!

Actually i have not used my toy for either of my blogs yet i have just been drawing the pictures with the 'paint' thingy that is on this pc.I have been drawing the mouse with the mouse,so to speak,i am first learning how to make my pictures BIGGER with some help from Local Girl (her blog is in the 'blogs i read' list on my other blog)and as i am only new to all of this it is all taking time to learn.
I still do not know how to put links into my blog text or put a line through a word.
I loved the photo you took of your skype adventure it looked great.
Well it has been a long day for me here, we celebrated australia day by going to the beach which was lovely and i am sure will make you just a little envious heh heh,so i will sign off and talk to you some more another day.

over and out
have heard of skype, glad you get to chat for free, it means a lot to be able to speak to our children especialy when they are far away.
the flowers are beautiful, himself never buys me them, tell a lie if i go in hospital he does!
That's so cool you can Skype Sam on the train. Pretty flowers. Well done Embee.
Lovely flowers mum, two visits...lucky us!
Yay for a good birthday! Your flowers are beautiful!
eve is this your main blog or the other one?
katy it's the time difference in the US that makes it difficult where Sam is concerned.
barbara Embee's clocking up brownie point at the moment and he's even been doing a bit of weeding this morning!
beccy I need the dates of the Feb school break!
Dman damn damn.....I knew your birthday was comingup and I missed it! Arrrgghhhh!
Chris, a very belated happy birthday!!
For free via a computer on a train half way around the world. Amazing.
I think giving you 2 tickets for Dublin is selfish. Shouldn't one have been for SF? I woke up with a sore throat and I am annoyed cos the weekend is the worst time to be sick. Its such a waste of time off!I hope we can skype on the train a lot more in future...
its not totally free cos i am paying for internet access but i am paying for that anyway so its not an extra expenditure like a phone would be on top of that
Your flowers are beautiful!
What a treat to see Sam. Technology is amazing.
Enjoy your gifts, and Happy Birthday again!
Sam, if I could afford a ticket to SF I'd be coming myself!
Happy Birthday, a day late! I love my Wacom tablet, although I wish I was a little more skilled with it... :)
sam I have a good recipe to cure all ills, I will email it to you!
beccy I think sam's reference might have been about my ticket from Dad!
I HAVE ENOUGH airmiles for both of you to visit. I've offered and been refused many a time. But the offer is always open
Happy Birthday! Beautiful flowers, EmBee!... and totally kewl that you can talk to your daughter regularly almost free. (My sister MIn and I talk everynight after the cell/mobile minutes become "free". it has changed our relationship and my life! ) Can we skype on Macs? I thought only IBMs let one do that.
I'll take Sam's airmiles ;)
indeed you can skype on a mac - that is what both mum and i am using
oh ratguts, I missed your birthday.
and look at you, you are so technical . We just took our little camera off of our computer to make way for my video camera hookup. so I won't be smiling at you on your computer
Beautiful flowers!
I love skype we use it to talk to my parents and my brother in laws kids. I also use it when Kelly is out of town since he has his laptop. He uses ear phones though when he is in a place that has other people then at least they don't hear both ends of the conversation.
Two trips to Dublin?! How lucky are you! Glad you were able to speak with Sam for free for one day anyway. Your flowers are beautiful!
Wonderful flowers!I hope you had a nice birthday!
