Letter to an inconsiderate motorist....

Dear Motorist,
On Saturday afternoon, as you are aware, you chose to park across the entrance to my property. You very effectively blocked vehicle access to and from my house. My car was behind the double gates that you perhaps failed to see~ I hope you don't need your eyes testing!

Before you point out that you pay road tax and it is not actually illegal to park where you did, I would remind you that although you may be technically correct, what is illegal is to prevent me access to and from my property. The dropped curb should have been an indicator!

I left a very polite note on your wind screen and even though my husband was in the front garden when you returned to your car you did not have the courtesy to acknowledge your mistake and apologise. I cannot be sure that you have not done this before, the last time it happened I did not take details~ but I do remember the car was blue, as is your!

Recently the problem is beginning to occur more frequently. So, this time I have decided to take photos and your registration details. I would never park across a driveway, gates or garage, even if it means parking further away from the house I am visiting.

In future, please show some respect for the law and park sensible leaving me free access to my property. Should you ignore my request and block my access again, I will not hesitate to call the police, who do have the power to make you move your car!

Yours
Angry and frustration

People who have no common courtesy bug the heck out of me. Is being polite too hard to ask these days?

I simply do not get how some people can be so wrapped up in themselves they just don't think.

Why on earth is it not illegal to park over someone's driveway?

I am going to get you a no parking you will be towed sign.

One of my biggest pet peeves is rude and obnoxious drivers! Hopefully, they will not do it again!

Beautifully written, Chris, as I'm sure your note was, also.

My husband has a phrase for these situations - poor home training. That about sums it up.

Dear Chrisb. If you're so inclined, watch this.

Then you will know what I mean when I say, "What a silly bunt!"

Sam it's rather sad that a lot of today's society behave in a very anti-social way!

sandy I won't repeat what my hubby told me to out in the note!

I applaud you! This happens to me occasionally and like you, I have a gated driveway and a dropped curb. It's so annoying and again, like you, I am mindful of others right of ways, entries and exits etc. Lets hope they have learned the error of their ways!

Chris - you know how I feel about this. I get people blocking the entrance to my front door, which is ON THE FREAKIN ROAD, almost daily.

It really makes my blood boil when I'm trying to get it or out of my house! And it's not like there isn't space before or after my front door, omg!

I love my sticky notes!!!!!

In fact, I'm thinking I might just get some printed so I don't have to write them everytime, lol.

I've never been able to understand the sense of entitlement these morons have.

I cannot imagine leaving my car in a position that would prevent access to someone's driveway, although it happened to me quite a bit on the Coast (one of the reasons I moved here).

oh that is so annoying, I loathe people who do things like this. The worst thing is not apologizing after seeing your note - how rude!

At first I thought they were just parked backwards or something! I have to admit this would annoy me too! Its rude, its inconsiderate and well they just should not do it! We have a similar problem here, however in our case whenever someone visits either next door or across the road for some reason they park in front of our cars which are not in a driveway but in the front yard. Technically in our case we cannot say anything because its not a driveway but it is still annoying when the spaces in front of the houses they are visiting are free! Why on earth would you park someone in? Having said that I thought it was the law that if someone parks across your driveway you can legally have them towed!

See I would leave a note like you. My husband? Would get a couple neighbors and they would have pushed that car out into the middle of the street. He's good like that.
