Question???????

As a non-geek please can anyone tell me why 'comments' will not accept me using underline strike through, italic or BOLD.

Chris, it should be a setting that you can change. It's been a while since I used Blogger but I remember being able to enable HTML tags (that's what you're talking about) in comments. I'll go and have a look for you....

Hmmm interesting, I just had a look and didn't see anything. With Typepad you can turn then on and of. You can have bold and italics but Blogger doesn't accept underline or stikethrough. Some people use third party commenting like Haloscan.

WT thank you for this, at least I now know it's not me doing something wrong which is what I always tend to think. I have never heard of 'haloscan' but I will take a look at it. However being an old (underlined) stick in the mud I will probably keep using blogger comments- but you never know!!

You can do bold, italics and hyperlinks, but I'm not sure if you can do anything else: not underlines or strikethroughs for sure. You can do bold with either the b or the strong tag and italics with either i or em.

you can use i and b in the comments but that is all - the others are simply not permitted.

It must be a Blogger-issue right now. Usually I was able to. Seems that I can now...

I know that on Typepad there is an area where the owner can choose whether or not to allow it - so maybe you've come across some that haven't allowed it.
