The weatherman got it right for once!

I'm sure those of you who are knee deep in snow will by now be quite bored with our pre-occupation with the white stuff here in the UK. Everyone else in the world copes admirably, not England, everything grinds to a halt and travel is chaotic. For instance some airports have been closed, roads are blocked, trains delayed, and many schools are closed which clearly delighted the children but not so parents, just think of the childcare problems it's created. The snow has been the topic for most of the radio 2 programmes, as I speak Jeremy Vine is suggesting everyone emails in a photo taken in the snow to be posted on their news board.

Where I live we missed the worst of the snow storms but we did have sufficient to cover the gardens and I did take a few pictures to prove it. The light was quite poor as it was snowing quite heavily as I was snapping away.

This is the view as I opened my back door.

The back yard taken from my dining room window.

The front garden must be more protected as there appears to be less snow settling here.

This one is for Ben, my 6 year old grandson who didn't have enough snow in Dublin even to make a snowball. I went out especially to make a little snowperson, I do wish you were here because we could have made a much bigger one. Granny Betty lent me a hat and scarf to keep him or maybe it's a her warm. Hope you like!!

Ben (and anyone else) guess who's busy building this huge snowman!!! Taken over 25 years ago.

Love the snowman Mum. It snowed here at lunchtime but the ground is too wet for it to settle.

CC, Asha I really enjoyed myself, luckily the neighbours couldn't see me they would probably think I'd lost it. Sun has since come out and now at 16:30 it's all melted.

2crazzie4U- thanks for dropping by you probably would have LOL if you'd seen this grandmother out there playing in the snow and not a child in sight. What did you say about being 'crazzie'!!

barbara much as I enjoyed this snowy interlude a little more warmth would be welcome.

sally I must say I thought it looked quite cute after I put the finishing touches.

These are great! Everything comes to a screeching halt around here, too, when it snows!

I'm ready for more. What about you?

I love the sweet little snowman!

PS. Texas is the same way. We shut the whole state down when it snows.

We haven't had enough snow in the 4 winters I've lived in TN to make a snowman that large. LOVE that you finally got some, it just does a body good, don't you think?

Gosh, I love having blogmates all across the globe! Glad we found each other!

That really is a rather attractive snow-sculpture, it was a pity that it was not still there for me to see when I got home. I think that I might have one of the other photos you are looking for and I will do a search over the weekend as it is going to rain!!!!! Love
Incidently LOL meant lots of love when I started writing letters to the opposite sex - seems to have changed. I must be increasing in age!!Em

Susan we've had more overnight but it's now turned to sleety rain and if this freezes it will be pretty dangerous for drivers.

jenny oh thank you. It does seem crazy coming to a halt for a few inches.

mimi ah but do they cope with it or does everything come to a standstill like here

pamela now how do we differ from elsewhere-idea for a post unusual snow sculptures or snow people I wonder if there would be much response ?

crazzie4u I agree u can join me any time; have been swimming today I must be mad!! PS they put the heat up on Fri pm's for us oldies mind there were only 7 people in the pool so it was great.

Erik artistic I take it that was said tongue in cheek!!

Embee you must get modern LOL laugh-out-loud. U mus lern the chat-room speak. (I've probably got it all wrong)
