Local Produce and Pool Fun- Portugal # 4
I think I mentioned before that we bought oranges at a little stall by the side of the road on the way into Silves. I wondered just how much they sold, because every time we passed by there seemed to be few customers. In fact there were several stalls and a van within a few hundred yards of each other and they were there everyday of the week, from morning until early evening.
When we stopped, the guy on the stall very quickly peeled an orange for us to sample. They were so sweet and juicy we needed no further convincing to buy a huge bag full. Please note we came equipped with our own bags~ I hope you are impressed!
He threw in a few extra!
We also bought avocados and some small round plums.
The whole bag full of fresh fruit cost us 7euro (about $11). A real bargain in my opinion!
This is what we then enjoyed with our breakfast most mornings.
We all had a lot of fun in the pool and I put together a few little clips of my grandchildren enjoying themselves. I forgot my comments would be heard and I haven't worked out how to edit them out!
I hope you are not getting bored hearing about my holiday because I still have a few more posts in the pipeline!

There's nothing quite like a good, fresh orange.
I miss the fresh oranges and the pool:-(
I'm drooling at the oranges!! It's hard to get really good ones here.
Those oranges look juicy and delicious and the price was good. I like buying produce fresh from the farmer.
It looks like your grandchildren are enjoying that pool. Kids and water go together like bread and jam.
Enjoy your holiday and thanks for stopping by and commenting on my post.
Blessings,
Mary
Oh YUMMY! Congrats on being the first on the list!!!! :)
Now I am thirsty... I'm off to have a glass of rel orange juice!
Dear chrisb. Ohhh beccy's kids have the sweetest irish accents! It looks like so much fun - I remember when I was a kid, I spent the entire summer holidays in the pool. As we got older, we'd dive in for a quick dip, but wouldn't stay in - I don't know how we occupied ourselves for hours on end in the pool, but I'm guessing it's much the same as your video!
The fresh fruit looks absolutely lovely. There's nothing like freshly squeezed orange juice!
Clever you!! That was really good!
oh, i love fresh-squeezed orange juice!
ha ha - I have been preparing that exact same post too!
ha! I see that you lot got more creative with your 'pool toys' after I left.
Fresh Oranges! Those look so yummy. Do they grow them locally there?
Not bored at all. I was hoping we would hear more about your trip. I love traveling vicariously.
Those all look so yummy! Good stuff and that sounds like a great price!

LMM although they did go to a water park they had such fun in the pool we didn't need to go to a beach.
Sam you must post it as I'm sure you will do a better job than me x
That video did not publish very clearly once it is compacted. I made a film that runs for nearly 15mins, but just pulled out the pool bit to publish here.
Karmyn the region we were staying is just full of orange and lemon groves.
daffy I'm not stupid I take the pictures LOL!!! However, I promise you I was in the pool every day!

All the fruit looks so good, especially the oranges. It's hard to find good, sweet oranges around here.

Ooooohhhh, I LOVE fresh oranges! One of the huge benefits of traveling down to Florida. That picture of the one cut up looks wonderful!
Never bored hearing about your trip!
Those oranges look great. I have bags just like that and have been getting better at taking them to the supermarket. The water play look fun. It was cool to hear the accents. It is so funny how kids are the same no matter where in the world they live.
