Show us your Apron

On Barbara's winosandfoodies blog, I saw an event being hosted by Lucullian Delights to Show us your Apron. Barbara has an apron that really appeals to me (but then I do like my champagne). I then saw Cookicrumb's lovely collection and decided to give you a peep at some of my own motly collection.
These days I mainly use the OXO apron (can't remember if this was a free gift or cheap offer), the plastic Mrs Beeton's was a present (I expect one of the girls will remind me who gave it) and has been well used over the years. The red one with Swanage on belonged to my granny and she went there every year for a holiday. The blue one belonged to my MIL and 'the chef' to Embee's aunt, so I keep them for sentimental reasons. The little turquoise one was made by daughter Sam mostly by hand-not sure how old she was at the time!

I like that you posted your collection, it's nice to see how they somehow tell a story! I can't even decide which I like the best! Thanks for participating!

I don't really remember any of them, my favourite was the purple one with a pink frill, now why didn't you post that!

beccy I nearly added that one to the photo but took it out and as I mainly wear the oxo one I thought this should be classed as my favourite!!

you prefer the oxo one to the cute handmade one loveingly stitched by your cute little daughter. I am sure if it had been made by one of your grandchildren it would have no doubt been your favourite.

I want to tell the story about the apron granny made me and how it was in ID magazine in the 80s but a) I don't know where the apron is (in a box in your atic?) and b) I don't know where the id magazine is (in a box in oyur attic?)

Sam I immediately thought of that apron but wasn't sure where it is. It would have been too difficult to find easily in the attic.

How can you not love the OXO one? It's full of hugs and kisses :).

I've learned I wash far fewer clothes if I remember to wear an apron when baking...!

You've got a great collection (I have just one full one and one half).

Nice collection Chris, I love the blue and white one. I'm feeling guilty now I didn't post pictures of my washing up apron or my frying fatty foods apron- they aren't at all glamorous.

barbara I have to say I don't wear the short ones very much and I should wear my oxo one more than I do as I tend to get my clothes splashed which is a nuisance.

Robin now why didn't I think of hugs and kisses how clever (much better than meat cubes!)

Hi! Nice collection you have! Loving the OXO. Nice that there are stories behind each one too. I don't have any good ones, I use bog-standard stripey one from Ikea... hang on, yes, I do infact own a cute one, although I don't wear it for cooking, but when I am doing my stall - It's also from Ikea, but really cute! Get a lot of compliments from female customers! - Anyway, i liked your post, it made me want to start a collection too!
