Fun Monday# 35 These boots are made for Walking

Robin is our hostess with the nicest of feet so naturally she has a foot fetish and what does she say....

"Shoes tell a lot about a person and we wanna delve deeply into your soul sole. Photograph your favorite pair--or pairs--of shoes and tell us a little about why they're near and dear to your toes heart (I can't wait to see how Swampy ties this in to Breast Cancer Awareness!). Follow in Jenny's footsteps and make a foot-family portrait...show us your baby bronzed booties...let us see the shoes YOU HAD TO HAVE (but have never worn)...or all those grotesquely dyed-to-match formerly white satin bridemaid's shoes that were worn ONCE...the reinforced steel-toe boots that saved your big toe from being hacked off in that industrial "accident"...or, just take pictures of your nekkid feet--gnarly bunions, twin toes, or perfectly OPI-pedicured tootsies".

I wouldn't dare to show a picture of my feet or would I....

When I was a toddler I apparently loved these shoes and they were bright red not that you can tell that from this old photo!
Those shoes were not kept but as I'm an old softy I did keep quite a few pairs of my own children's shoes I could never afford to have them preserved so they have been going mouldy in a box in my cellar; this was Sam's first pair...
(Beccy before you say where are yours you completely wore them out so I couldn't save them but I have others of yours).
When I looked at my current shoe collection, (and I admit to having just a few pairs!!) I decided they were all boring so I'm showing you my 'this year's fad' which are my comfy crocs. They are a bit like marmite you either love them or hate them. I love them and have a couple of pairs. Sam and Fred bought me the little smiley face on their recent trip to Cornwall.
I'll also show you my really comfortable pair of walking boots that Sam bought me last time I visited her in San Fransisco (she took me on a 6 mile hike) I don't think we will have time for hiking when I visit in November or will I need them for traipsing around the Farmers Market!!

That's all folks see you soon.

Too bad I thought 'where are mine' before I got to that line!!!!! You could have shown a pair of mine.

Mollie and Dillon went hiking yesterday and their boots are both too small so I have to get them new ones.

I really like your hiking shoes. They'd work great for snow season here!

I just haven't been able to put Crocs on my big size 8 1/2 feet - they just don't look right. Yours are CUTE, tho! And I can tell you've done some serious walking in those shoes.

LOVE the baby pics! Baby toes are the cutest, aren't they?

I've promised myself that I'd keep mum on my feelings about crocs throughout my Fun Monday visits, so I'm just going to say "Nice Smiley Face". ;-)

I feel so guilty about not keeping shoes.
(I did keep a blanket for each of them)

so, do crocks give you any support?
I've seen them everywhere - but haven't looked at them for myself.

baby toes always bring out the urge to put them to my nose and sniff.

Love your crocs - I just wish my feet were small enough to wear them - they look like clown shoes on me!

I love your comfy shoes! I only kept my daughter's first pair, bad mama I am but she was my first-born. :)

Chris, you were a BEAUTIFUL BABY!!!

Sometimes I feel like a failure of a mom...I didn't buy my kids "nice" baby shoes, so I certainly didn't save any of them :/. Seeing yours (well, Sam's) makes me a bit wistful....

I'm a fan of the Crocs, too, but my color selection is obnoxious...orange.

Those Merrells look comfy...I have some flip flops, but for boots, I bet you can't beat 'em!

Thanks for Fun Mondaying :).

You were a beautiful baby!!:)
Those are some well used shoes, good for you.Mine lasts forever, I will throw them because i tired of looking at them!:D
Crocs were all rage here until 2 weeks ago, when few kids got their shoes caught in the sliding elevators in the mall and got hurt.Be careful.

You were an adorable little baby!

It is funny, I thought the same thing about Beccy's shoes before you explained....I guess I have a soft spot for Beccy (I think it is the name). My mother didn't keep any of my shoes...come to think of it, I don't think that I have kept any of my kid's baby shoes.

I need some purple crocs. Now.

I don't have any jibbiz on mine, but I'd like a smiley face. I think I may have $2 - off to the store!

I love your baby shoes. How darling. And, Crocs are just about the most comfy things on the planet. Aside from the UGGs

I'm going to have to break down and get myself some Crocs. Everyone loves them. I tried some fake ones on, and wasn't impressed, so I guess it has to be the real thing..

It's official, I';m the only person on the planet who doesn't own a pair of Crocs! Sheesh.

Nice gratuitous baby pic ;)

I like that you showed your baby picture of your feet and your favourite toddler shoes. Comfy shoes are the best, and I almost always go for comfort but I don't always ignore looks. I have been thinking of getting some hiking boots too.

Aww - I loved seeing your baby photo...and Sam's baby shoes! I've saved both my children's baby shoes (several pairs each). I just couldn't bring myself to throw them away!!

Now I know what to send you as a little pressie;). (I still don't own a pair of Crocs..sigh, I should just get a pair already!).

beccy Your second pair were blue ones and they are in pretty good condition.

jodi Couldn't agree more about the boots.

lisa well I had to think of something as my feet are a joke now!

myanderings I probably look like a clown but I don't worry too much!

robin there are so many colours it was difficult to choose. I might just get some more when I am next in the states and mollie already has her order in!

karina I don't think I was expecting to see so many crocs I haven't seen that many here.

Pamela the crocs are just so comfortable and easy to wear, you should at least try a pair on.

susan my first pair of crocs were fake and they are nothing like the real thing I only use them for gardening now.

asha I read about that and on some surfaces I have noticed how the rubber sticks a bit, but then I have noticed the same with some other shoes so its just being careful.

WT they do 'manly' colours but surely you would go for barbie pink!!

elena jane I only kept about a dozen pairs.

TLG having seen your elegant, crocs are definitely not that but they are good for pottering and just knocking about (which of course is all the time for me!)

blue momma it is rather a cute smile :)

frannie that's a good idea about making the Christmas ornament.

steffi I could get away with showing baby pictures of my feet.

robocop I recommend merrells :)

Dawn try merrells for comfort :)

AFF I've never tried on uggs but I have a pair of fleece lined boots that I've had since the 80's they were made in Germany and they are still perfect for really bad weather.

Love that last picture. Don't let Purple worms see that shot, she'll steal it and photoshop it beyond recognition!
Asha, what's a sliding elevator?

min I wouldn't actually mind PW does some pretty good stuff with photoshop.

christine my grandaughter has lots of the croc buttons/(jibbitz) I think it's something more appropriate to children really but it's just a bit of fun.

I'm so late reading these this week!
Love the baby photo! I have kept all the kids first shoes as well and even have mine together with the kids pairs. Mine weren't bronzed or anything and actually the kids wore them for pictures that I took each just to show them and me in the same shoes. We also have a pair of jean shorts from when my mom was a baby that all of the babies since her have worn. The names are also sewn into the pockets and I hope to be able to keep them nice to pass on to my grandchildren.
Your shoes are my kind of shoes! Comfort is all I'm about!

Chris I bought some Crocs for beach walking and am so pleased with the comfort of them. I have nerve damage to my feet from the chemo theraphy and the Crocs have made my life so much more pleasant now my feet are comfortable

Ordered my first pair of crocs online yesterday...then the postal workers went on strike! So I'll have to be patient. My other addiction is Birkenstocks - so comfy for an older person's swelling feet!
