He doesn't know he's being watched
Anyone who reads my blog regularly will know that we had storm damage to our gates a couple of months back. Although the gates have been back in working order for some time, they still needed additional work. The brick pillar, to the left, also had to be strengthened by having iron plates attached.
Last weekend, without any prompting from moi (most unusual) Embee went out to fill all the holes and re-stain the gates. I took this sneaky photo while he was hard at work and I was playing on the computer. I hasten to add I did supply him with coffee and words of encouragement like "you are going to put more filling in that big hole" for some reason he just agreed instead of the usual 'would you like to take over or 'you don't know what you're talking about'. Well management is what I do best!!
It still needs another coat of protection (the weather forecast is good for the coming weekend so here's hoping!!).
Thank you Embee it's beginning to look good.

High praise indeed Dad, you must be increasing your brownie points!
They are big gates for a house. Not many houses have gates where we live. Now he has fixed the gates does Embee get to go on holiday with you?
beccy he's gradually clocking them up.
barbara oooooh I think sooooo; now where can he take me :)
Oh! That's your hubby! I thought somebody is going to mark "X" on your gate!!;D
He sounds my husband when he says would you like to take over!!MEN!!!
asha that's him (embee). I'd better be careful what I say he reads my blog every day :)
There is nothing wron with men, ladies!! Just thought I put that right!
Nice gate . . looks like royalty lives there! Are you?? Royalty??
Erik how nice to hear from you this must mean you have a new post up I'm going right over to check.
UUUh- I wish- no on second thoughts couldn't cope with all the relatives I would inherit and the constant press attention. Of course royals do write blogs, what you read in the press must be true ( fergie's daughter is apparently a blog writer in case you didn't see this bit of news!)
Thank you so much for your kind comments and good luck with your "cellar" post - looking forward to reading.
Will pop-by again.
poor Embee, always getting such a bad rap.
I often think of that print you have on the wall somewhere in the house - you know the one entitled "Between tow fires". He'll know what I mean.
xxxx
Dear chrisb. Ohhh, that's really sweet. Mr Moi does nothing without being asked. He does nothing when asked, either.
portraitofpeter see you again then.
sam the print is in granny's sitting room; he'll be pleased you are sympathetic. He hasn't even read this post yet.
little miss moi that's why I've done this post because I was rather surprised and very pleased how he stuck at this; but it's not quite finished so I've got my fingers crossed for good weather this weekend.
Too sweet.
My Cranky is a pretty good toiler around the house; my method of managing him is saying "Can I do this?" or "Can I help?" He always says no, and gets to it himself.
CC not sure that would work in this house I might actually end up trying to do it myself.
Thats great he fixed it without encouragement. The hubby is pretty good about fixing things but generally waits until its bothering him to do it. I have long given up on trying to convince him to do things although if I really want it done and need his help I will try to do it on my own and generally he will help or take over.
YEAH!
In my house we would make an official "Scratching off of the list" after an accomplishment like that.
my4kids embee is good at little things like tonight he fixed the sink stopper straight away but there are other things I've been waiting years for ( like having the electricity connected to an outside light by the front door) if he reads this I wonder if it will get done.
karmyn I used to have one of those but I got too depressed when the list didn't get shorter!!
She does not say anything about the wind, or that I went out on the garden after having done the other side of those gates. But I suppose that onje thank you make one feel warm. Love
I'm VERY impressed!!
Sally I give words of encouragement plus make him coffee to try and ensure the job get done!!
